The world is a poorer place today – 30 August 2018 – after hearing of the death<\/strong> of<\/strong> Dr Peter Corris<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

A respected novelist, columnist and public intellectual in Australia,<\/strong> Peter was also the biographer of Exit Founder, Dr Philip Nitschke<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In 2013, Philip and Peter collaborated on a year long writing project. The result was Philip’s autobiography, Damned If I Do<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, published by Melbourne University Press.<\/p>\n

Peter was also a long time member of Exit international and a fervent believer in one’s right to die peacefully at a time of one’s choosing.<\/p>\n

A lifelong sufferer of Diabetes Type 1, Peter understood the importance of a good life and the equal importance of being able to control when and how that life ends.<\/p>\n

Philip Nitschke is enormously saddened by Peter’s death. He says he feels humbled and privileged to have had him write his autobiography.<\/p>\n
